The Optimum Accelerator for Proton Beam Therapy
The basis of proton treatment is the proton beam, which makes conformal beam treatment available at a level not possible with other particles. There are several different systems capable of producing a proton beam.

Because of it's proven safety, reliability and efficiency, we believe that Optivus' eVe Synchrotron, part of the Conforma 3000 Proton Beam Therapy System, is the best accelerator on the market today.

Our synchrotron has demonstrated extraordinary environmental performance. After operating 160 continuous hours, the residual radiation measured within 15 minutes of shutdown at 10 points at a distance of 30.5 cm is shown in the Figure below. The environmentally clean Optivus synchrotron allows service technicians immediate access upon shutdown.

This is a significant part of why the reliability of the Optivus synchrotron is superior to any competing system.
It is important to examine such data from all suppliers due to the tremendous impact this has on an operation where more than 100 patients must be treated.

On November 4, 2005 the residual radiation was measured at key points around the synchrotron and listed in the figure above. The exposure rate readings were taken with an ionization chamber survey meter at a distance of one foot from the surface. The readings were taken immediately after the accelerator was shut down and after the accelerator had been running for 160 hours of continuous operation.
